Fat Sleeper (Dormitator maculatus) in big pond, August 30, 2021 (netted by Rob Dobbs). It lives in intertidal areas on muddy bottoms, and is more frequent in brackish water. It can be found commonly in freshwater or saline coastal pools and river mouths.

One of the first fish (or schools of) that I noticed in the shallow water potholes of the property and later in the large pond were these later identified as Sheepshead Minnows. |
